October's Notable Mentions

Soup has arrived!  Every weekday, you can come to the cafe and enjoy a bowl of piping hot and nourishing soup.  Each day (with the exception of Mondays), we'll have 2 choices while the soup lasts.  There are 2 sizes from which to choose; cup is 12 ounces and costs $3.50 and a bowl is 16 priced at $4.75.  The soup is served with oyster crackers and the option to upgrade to a gluten-free, buckwheat flatbread.  The flatbread's were made at the cafe with coconut oil in cast iron pans.  Though this option is gluten-free, we utilize mass quantities of wheat flour in our kitchen and cannot guarantee that there safe for someone with strong allergies to gluten.  They are however quite nice for those of us who are intolerant and treat our tummies gently.

Switching gears.........Our Autumn Clothes Swap with happen this month.  The spring version of this event was a hit and I'm thinking this time around will be the same.  Clean out your closests, shoe bins, or jewelry boxes and bring your gently used items to the cafe on Thursday, October 18 starting at 6ish.  We'll organize things by size and trade!  This is a great, economical, environmentally friendly way in which to aquire some new bits to your wardrobe.  Hope to see you there.  We ask that there's a one drink miniumum to support the coffee shop as our venue.

Bakery! Bakery! Bakery!  There's nothing more comforting than a little something sweet with your morning cup of coffee.  We just wanna reiterate that ALL of the bakery you'll find at our shop is made on-site, by one of the baristas, and with care.  If you love something, let us know so we can keep doing it.  Likewise, if you don't enjoy something, we wanna know about that too, so we don't repeat unwanted items.  We're having a blast and will keep on keeping on, as long as you keep on eating on.

The coffee roasted by Anodye continues to gain in deliciousness.  This week they released a Peruvian coffee; it's a light roast, which is what we LOVE.  I haven't had it yet, but it'll be on tap by the end of the week.  We are so very proud that we maintain a healthy relationship with these folks.  Why?  Because they share a business philosophy close to our own.  Small batches, full of respect, and takin' care of each other.  This isn't only a business model, it can be our life's work!

Be well.  Much Love.  Nichole
